The good: The guns I had were actually reliable, no major issues in terms feeding, ejecting/jamming. At one time I thought Kimber was the top of the food chain, I really did have pride of ownership with them!I've had a Kimber Stainless Target II for about 15 years, and the only problems I've ever had were from weak (under 1100fps) 10mm loads. They don't always fully cycle the slide, and tend to fail to feed. With the handloads I make and the older, more powerful Winchester Silvertips (1275+ fps iirc), I've never had an issue.

I think you need to watch out for Idiot Scratches to the frame as they will show more than other 1911's. You also have to watch the area aft of the ejection port for brass/copper marks, which can be removed with Hoppe's #9.Finally got to the range for an hour, yesterday, with my new Kimber Custom II 10mm GFO. The results were something of a mixed bag. The good news is the gun will put bullets where I want if I do my job. (See targets, below.) Recoil was mild with the Armscor 180 gr. FMJ, a mild 10mm load (muzzle velocity ±1100 FPS), I was shooting.

They say shoot them they will break in . I had to slide the rounds in one at a time by hand.
